Daphne Guinness, a famous fashion muse, producer, perfumer, is now also a musician as she just launched her first music album “Optimistic in Black” on May 27, Friday. The 48-year singer says that the album speaks a lot about her personal losses and the resulting pain, which expresses itself in the form of a song.
English-Irish fashion muse Daphne Guinness lost over dozen people in her life, sadly over a short interval of time. Although she agreed that coming straight from the fashion world, doing an album was “pretty weird” but it was her last resort to assuage her in her darkest hours. “The floodgates broke, and song after song came out,” she told W Magzine.
Surprisingly, Daphne isn’t all new to singing. At the age of 19, she was trying to become a professional singer at UK’s prestigious Guildhall School. That dream was discontinued after her marriage, only to return in tragic hours and console her to find “Optimistic in Black.”
